Biography

M. Andrew Eick is a proven innovator and leader in the information technology (IT) government services intelligence industry. He has and continues to build technology companies that service customers within the Department of Defense (DOD). MissionFocus is the outcome of efforts undertaken at the DOD. Mr. Eick was part of the "tiger team" that brought the cloud computing capability to a customer within the DOD.

In its first year, Mr. Eick has grown MissionFocus from one employee to six. MissionFocus will realize close to $1M in revenue for its first year of operations. It is the leading company in the Cloud Computing space for the DOD. 2010 will realize additional growth for MissionFocus through additional contracts and resources.

Concurrently, Mr. Eick is Chairman of the Board and President for the Institute for Modern Intelligence (IMI). IMI is a non-profit research institute that is dedicated to developing the science, practice, and governance of modern intelligence. IMI was started by Mr. Eick and one other business partner to further develop Cloud Computing technology and data architecture for cloud computing environments.

Additionally, Mr. Eick was instrumental in the creation of two other DOD startup companies. SSS Research and thincSoft were created to primarily service a DOD customer and the commercial world applicability of thin client geo spatial visualizations. Mr. Eick grew SSS Research from 2 to over 30 people. Mr. Eick managed a contract that grew from three to fifteen billable resources. Also, Mr. Eick co-authored a proposal that ultimately received phase I and phase II funding of close to $1M from Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR). Mr. Eick's work received three patents for software inventions as well as one industry award from IEEE. Mr. Eick has published numerous papers on data architecture and data visualization and has spoken at many IEEE and industry conferences.

Prior to his work with the DOD, Mr. Eick worked at Ford Motor Company as a commercial software developer who created the publishing system for repair shop manuals. This software was deployed to dealerships world-wide. The software was delivered to over 3,000 users and translated into a dozen languages. Mr. Eick received a Trade Secret Award (confidential paten), and the Vice President's Select Project Award. Mr. Eick's software is still in use by all Ford Motor Company dealerships worldwide
