July 4th Parade in Washington D.C.

Took the girls to the parade downtown yesterday. The parade was down constitution ave, and it was really hot. The girls went into the natural history museum (to the gift shop, no doubt) while I held our seat along the parade route. Libby liked the bands and the balloons, but was tired soon enough. Of course, not to tired that a Popsicle didn’t revive them. We walked down to the white house, and then got on the subway home. They wanted to see the fireworks, but Jasmine was sound asleep before the fireworks even were finished on t.v.

I made the attached movie on my iPhone, and edited it together on the subway ride home — I didn’t have any marching band music in my music collection, so Miles Davis will have to do…

With me driving around the beltway everyday, I knew it was only a matter of time before I got in an accident. Fortunately, the kids weren’t with me, and no one was hurt. $5K worth of damage and my car is back together again…

Agony at 11,000 feet

From Chris:

We just completed a short vacation to the White Mountains in eastern AZ. The altitude here ranges from 8000 – 11000 ft with our hotel at 9100 ft. It was a great change from Phoenix with temps below freezing in the morning and low 70s during the day. We had a wet winter so there is water everywhere and the wildlife were also everywhere.

Here’s a few pictures. Herd of Elk, Black River, wild horses, Booda likes the river, a big Bull Elk that came out every night in the same spot, the Jeep keeps on going!
